I took my eight year old Grandson to Dagger Falls on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho summer before last. We found a colony of Pikas near the campground and my grandson found he could imitate the calls of the Pikas. This one came close and started scolding him in Pika language. I don't know what he thought my grandson had said, but it really seemed to upset the Pika.

I can hear them now. I love the pika colonies and how they collect hay for the winter.
